When people get their first urinary tract infection (UTI), they think that they will simply die from the excruciating pain. A UTI is one of the most painful, non-emergency situations you will ever be in and it just seems to go on and on for days. Whether this is your first UTI or you get them on a regular basis, it is important to know how to cure a UTI on your own, at home, without having to wait for a doctor’s appointment.

The key to learning how to cure a UTI is to understand what it is. A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is characterized by some pretty unpleasant symptoms. This infection occurs when a bacteria, usually E. coli, infects the urethra. This infection can result in pain and burning while you are urinating as well as a frequent feeling that you need to urinate. Some of the other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, back pain, and urine that appears to be reddish, cloudy, or milky. Many doctors will prescribe an antibiotic to treat your UTI, but some people prefer a more natural UTI home cure.

The fact that bacteria are becoming more resistant to antibiotics is just one of many reasons that you should consider a UTI home cure. Antibiotics are very expensive, even for people who have an excellent prescription drug plan included in their health insurance. Antibiotics also have some fairly unpleasant side effects of their own, which may also include nausea, vomiting, and more. If that’s not enough, it is estimated that twenty-five percent of infections that are treated with antibiotic will recur shortly after the treatment is completed.
